A Quick Guide to the New Canvas Bags from Sézane

sezane canvas bags - in pink

The latest Sézane collection of bags (and pouches) has arrived. Officially, they’re calling it the Correspondance collection: “Correspondance is a line of canvas travel accessories designed for the whole family—crafted to hold your essentials for every journey and customizable to suit your style.”

I like the shapes, love the colors, think they’re too expensive for cloth bags, if only because I honestly hate how big those tags read. It’s $110 for the weekender tote (at left), $40 for the makeup bag (middle), and $55 for the laptop bag (right). Everything comes in seven colors: all those seen in the makeup bag image, plus leopard and ecru.

So far, the only piece entirely dans un autre panier is the Mini Tote Bag, which I personally don’t like as much — those labels are so big and they look even bigger on the mini bag’s smaller scale:

(In the time it took me to write this, the Weekday Tote in leopard is now also DUAP, so hop on over there if you want to see if you can get lucky with emptied carts).

I’ve spent a lot of time with Sézane’s leather bag collection, and while I don’t love all of them, or think all of them are a good buy, I think some are classics and offer a very reasonable ROI. I think this is a beautiful, classic bag, the Milo Mini in patchwork leather:

Of this new collection of canvas bags, my picks would be the Weekday Tote in denim:

Or the laptop case:

And again as I’ve written this, the leopard laptop case is now DUAP.

Let we neglect them, the collection also includes: a crossbody pouchbowling bagmaxi flat pouch, and large toiletry bag, plus a couple for kids.
