I’ve been a fan of Jennifer Behr’s jewelry — handmade in her New York City workshop — since 2011, when I was working for a big fashion magazine. I found the actual email exchange, in which I promised that our video team would be able to “reuse the video for the iPhone” (lol) (I think I was literally just about to join Instagram, which debuted the year earlier.) She was so sweet, and the workshop itself was amazing — exactly what you’d want a workshop for this beautiful, creative jewelry line to be, with feathers here and crystals there. It was heaven.
I left that appointment with a piece from her line (this I cannot prove but I’m pretty sure it involved constellations?? little stars and planets?) and I’ve been a fan ever since, especially of her earrings, which run the gamut from bridal-ready to weekend-appropriate.
