Hello! If you’re reading this, you probably clicked on the link for the free 60 days of Guest Pass access to Peloton — remember, they’ll enroll you automatically at the end of the trial period so don’t forget to unsubscribe if you don’t want to pay!! Here’s the link for the pass!
Below, I’m sharing my a few of my favorite workouts — honestly, I don’t even do the “workouts” to all of them, with some of them I just love the music and motivational talk (#lol #embarrassing). Honestly honestly, Peloton has been a wholly positive force in my life and I hope you might get something great out of it, too. You can do the walks or runs (or bike rides) on a regular (non-Peloton) treadmill or bike at the gym, or perso I’ll just listen to them as I go about my day. Note that Thanksgiving is the best time of the year to start on Peloton, with their “Turkey Burn” slate of classes — here’s the 2024 Turkey Burn schedule from Pelo Buddy, a Peloton-centric blog.
These are in no particular order, except for a very pronounced recency bias:
1. Kirsten Ferguson’s 60-minute Intentional Setting Walk from 11/24/24
I love all of Kirsten’s Intention Setting walks but this one is extra great, she sort of guides us through her experience running the NYC Marathon after hip surgery.
2. Camila Ramon’s 20-minute Musica Alternativa Run from 9/24/24
Same, obsessed with Camila’s runs (even though I don’t run) and the music from this is so good I tracked down most of it on Spotify after.
3. Chelsea Jackson Roberts’ 5-minute Morning Meditation from 11/21/24
My personal challenge is meditating every day (“challenge” in the sense of “I do not do this but wish I would”) — when I do manage to do it, I always look for Chelsea’s first, she is extremely calming.
4. Jess King 30-minute New Year’s Eve Ride from 12/30/23
It’s terrible because I really think you should spend NY’s Eve at a party somewhere but I absolutely loved doing this ride as the clocked ticked down to midnight last year. She’s my favorite cycling instructor and I would recommend all of her Jess King Experience rides if you’re into EDM at any (even a low) level.
5. Christine d’Ercole’s 30-minute P!nk Ride from 11/9/19
This is on so many peoples’ best-ever rides — mine, too. Love all of Christine’s New Wave rides as well.
6. Jenn Sherman’s 45-minute Bruce Springsteen Ride from 5/17/23
I literally cried just searching for this ride, remembering how much I cried when I did it. Peloton is frequently pairing up instructors with artists and sometimes it’s clear that whatever the instructor knows has been gleaned from, say, Wikipedia, or some industrious Google searches. Other times, you know they’re doing their favorite-ever artist and the whole thing is incredibly special. This is an example of the latter.
7. Adrian Williams’ 30-minute Glutes and Legs Workout from 11/22/24
My favorite strength teacher, the last time I did his legs workout I had to wobble down the stairs for three days straight.
8. Alex Toussaint’s 20-minute Greatness Run from 10/9/24
Honestly I think he is the most inspirational instructor, if I liked hip hop more I would do his classes 365 days a year.
9. Tunde Oyeneyin’s 10-minute Light Weights Arm Workout from 5/14/24
All of Tunde’s 10-minute light-weight arm workouts are amazing and you’ll find lots of 30-day programs putting them all together.
10. Hannah Corbin’s 45-minute Barre Class from 9/13/24
I do each of Hannah’s barre classes when they pop up on the schedule. Obsessed.
