The 50 Best Vintage Souvenir State Plates, From Alabama to Wyoming

I think souvenir state plates are beautiful, I would love to have a collection of 50 hanging in my kitchen, I do not think they are unappealing, and I am willing to die on this hill.

Souvenir state plates had their heyday in the 1950s and ’60s, as I discovered in this history of the artform. Below, I’ve collected my favorite pick for each state, from Alabama to Wyoming, all from Etsy, which I find to be the most reliable online purveyor of vintage goods.

One thing I appreciate about souvenir state plates is that they’re generally pretty inexpensive — mostly under $25 and often half that — and I honestly think that smartly arranged, and well positioned, they can be a good-looking reminder of our traveling days.

My faves below: Alaska, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
